Six Case Workers from Femili PNG, along with our Case Work Manager and Operations Manager, completed three days of intensive training on Case Management and Self-Care last week (16-18 August 2017) in Lae.
From 4 to 6 July 2017, Femili PNG conducted training on gender-based violence and trauma-informed care in Daru. The training was organized by the Burnet Institute who is working with stakeholders to reduce the impact of drug-resistant tuberculosis in Western Province.
Femili PNG is pleased to announce that the official opening of its new office in Lae took place on 5 June 2017. The official opening luncheon was held at the Lae International Hotel, followed by a blessing and ribbon cutting at the new office.
Femili PNG celebrated its two-year anniversary at an event in Lae last month attended by more than 40 partners and stakeholders. The event was an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made through the power of partnerships since the organisation began its work in July 2014.
In a major breakthrough for survivors of family and sexual violence, the National Court in Lae last month sentenced a couple to a total of 50 years in prison with hard labour for persistent sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16.

Femili PNG is a local NGO based in Lae that runs a Case Management Centre (CMC) to assist survivors of family and sexual violence to access the services they need.
