Safe accommodation

We help high-risk survivors to access safe accommodation.

For some survivors, the best way to escape violence in the short-term is to find and stay at a safe house.

Because safe accommodation is limited, we can’t help everyone who needs it, but we advocate on behalf of high-risk survivors to get access to safe houses or to relocate.

In Port Moresby, we operate the Bel isi Safe House to cater to survivors and provide emergency accommodation. In other locations, we work with partner safe houses to provide some resources and facilities to support survivors.

We also help survivors in safe houses to find long-term solutions to ending violence, such as relocating or by obtaining court protections.

If you or someone you know is experiencing family or sexual violence and is seeking safe accommodation, we may be able to help. Please contact us.
