Femili PNG (FPNG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the The Voice Inc (TVI) on 4 July in Port Moresby in formalising their partnership to improve support to gender-based violence (GBV) and sorcery accusation-related violence (SARV) in Simbu Province.
The signing of MOU followed both organisations’ effective collaborations since 2024 to strengthen and improve responds to GBV and SARV after TVI through their legal desk identified challenges in managing cases in Kundiawa. TVI has been instrumental in working alongside Femili PNG to ensure processes of improving case management services are initiated and progressed.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening support systems for survivors of family and sexual violence and sorcery accusation-related violence in Simbu Province. Through this MoU, we hope to foster greater coordination, improve case management practices, and enhance data protection measures. We recognise that sustainable change requires long-term collaboration and respect for each organisation’s strengths, and we are proud to walk alongside Femili PNG and local frontline actors in this effort.’’ Said The Voice Inc Executive Director, Maliwai Sasingian.
This significant partnership aims to enhance understanding between the two organisations going forward to support survivors of family and sexual violence and sorcery accusation-related violence through an improved coordinated case management services and referral system in Simbu.
While stressing on the importance of this partnership, Femili PNG Chief Executive Officer, Ms Daisy Plana said: “This partnership is significant to Femili PNG’s interest in broadening its national impact in standardising the case management approach to GBV and SARV survivors through collaboration and partnership with the frontline workers in Simbu Province. Through this MOU, we are looking forward to supporting the standardisation of case management system in the province and consultatively.”
Femili PNG and The Voice Inc collaborations is not only aiming at improving case management services but also seeks at supporting development of standardised case management data collection tools, enhance case discussions and coordination between coalition members, establish reporting mechanism and support capacity building of the coalition members in case management to strengthen responds to FSV and SARV cases.
As a leading dedicated case management organisation in the country, Femili PNG is happy to collaborate with TVI who share similar aim at eliminating SARV and GBV in the country at the provincial level.
Both organisations will continue the collaboration in accordance with the signed principles, approaches, responsibilities and confidentiality and data protection.
