Femili PNG signs MOU with Eastern Highlands Provincial Administration

On 30 August 2024, Femili PNG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Eastern Highlands Provincial Administration. The Eastern Highlands Provincial Administrator, Mr. Alan Los and Femili PNG CEO, Ms. Daisy Plana signed this long pending Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the Advisor for Community Development, Ms. Siviri Lalave, Femili PNG Goroka Program Manager, Elly Toimbo, Provincial Legal Officer, Mr. Frankly Artihulawa and other officers from both parties.                                                                                                                              

Mr. Los formally acknowledged the presence of FPNG in the province and welcomed the organization into the Eastern Highlands Province. He said: “Under my leadership and management, the EHPA will continue this partnership and I am happy to support with whatever resources and capacity I have.”

This MOU signing was a very significant moment for Femili PNG since it starts its operation in the province, serving survivors of family and Sexual Violence and Sorcery Accusation Related Violence (SARV) of EHP and neighboring highlands provinces since 2021.

Whilst embracing this special moment, the Advisor for EHP Community Development, Ms. Siviri Lalave provided the Provincial Administrator with a briefed summary of the Femili PNG’s work in partnership with her division and the support that has been extended to other partner service providers.

Femili PNG CEO, Ms. Plana narrated that: “Femili PNG’s objective aside from serving FSV and SARV survivors, one of its main objective is to strongly work in partnership with the government in ensuring that services are effective, cohesive and sustainable.” She thanked the Provincial Administrator for the acceptance of the Femili PNG in the province and the formal recognition of the partnership with the signed MOU.
