In 2025, FemiliPNG Australia commissioned an independent evaluation of the Femili PNG Case Management Centre in Goroka. The evaluation covered the period from February 2021 to January 2025, and was completed in December 2025. The evaluation has been published on the FemiliPNG Australia website and is now available on the Femili PNG website here.

The evaluation concluded that the Goroka CMC “represents a highly effective and contextually relevant survivor support model, delivering strong outcomes under challenging conditions. Its success reflects a combination of survivor-centred practice, deep community engagement, and adaptive learning over time.” It also found that with rising case loads and increasing case capacity among other factors, its “continued effectiveness now depends on strategic investment in staffing, infrastructure, coordination systems, and structured support for staff wellbeing, as well as shared responsibility across government and partner institutions.”

In line with its findings, the report made a number of recommendations which Femili PNG is now working through with FemiliPNG Australia.

This is the second evaluation of the Goroka CMC. The first one was carried out in 2022 and is available here.

FemiliPNG Australia is a support organisation for Femili PNG that operates in Australia and provides funding and technical support for Femili PNG. FemiliPNG Australia funds the Goroka CMC including with funding from the Australia NGO Cooperation Program.
