FemiliPNG Australia hosted a successful and a record-breaking marathon festival: Run for Femili PNG annual event this year with 36 energetic runners who came forward with a facinated heart to support for a cause. The event took place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April in Canberra, Australia.
According to FemiliPNG Australia, this year’s marathon was a record-breaking with increased number of runners and a higher fundraising amount of $54,674 compared to past years – all proceedings go toward helping Femili PNG.
In her acknowledgement to the participating runners and supporters, FemiliPNG Australia Executive Director (ED), Ms. Jocelyn Condon thanked everyone for their enthusiasm to support Femili PNG and FemiliPNG Australia. She said:
“This is such important funding, and every dollar makes a difference for someone who walks through the doors of a Femili Case Management Centre at one of the hardest points in their lives. Your belief in our mission makes it possible.”
The two-day activity was made even better. The team had a special morning tea at the PNG High Commission Office joined by the PNG High Commissioner H.E John Kali – Femili PNG Patron and a former board of director of FemiliPNG Australia.
A heartfelt thank you to FemiliPNG Australia, and all those who supported the event including the office of the PNG High Commission, the hardworking volunteers, the runners and walkers. It is because of people like you, Femili PNG continues to make real impact. Thank you everyone! Your unwavering support to raise hope and change lives truly did made a history and we are grateful for that.
