As one of the long-time committed supporters and partners of the Morobe Adventist Care Centre (MACC), Femili PNG (FPNG) reinforced its partnership by donating a vehicle to the safe house on Tuesday, 9 June, at the Morobe Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church area at 2 Mile, Lae.
On behalf of Femili PNG, Finance Coordinator Joyce Maru and Fleet Manager Anderson Ango officially presented a Nissan Navara to the President of the Morobe Mission, Mr. Enosh Enopa, who was accompanied by Morobe Mission Health Director Freda Makanda, Education Director Smit K, Communications Director Joe Meya, and other senior staff as witnesses.
During the presentation, Morobe Mission President Mr. Enosh Enopa thanked Femili PNG for the recognition and support toward MACC safe house. He said: “You have been working with us, and you know what we really needed to serve our community. We are excited and ready to dedicate it to serve its purpose. Thank you Femili PNG.”
MACC is a local community initiative that began operations in June 2022 with partner support from FPNG, Digicel Foundation, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), the SDA Morobe Mission, Avondale Adventist University Church in Australia, and business houses and individuals who donated in cash and in kind. Since then, the number of survivors accommodated has increased, as has the need for client logistics.
MACC Safe House Manager added: “This vehicle will make a huge difference. Survivors often need urgent medical care or safe relocation, and transport has been one of our biggest challenges. With this support, we can respond faster and more effectively to their needs.”
FPNG collaborates with MACC to help survivors receive temporary emergency accommodation. Whilst working with MACC, Femili PNG learned about its challenges and the need for immediate client transport to seek medical treatment on time. Femili PNG is keen to see this donated vehicle boost safe house logistics support to survivors.
Femili PNG CEO, Daisy Plana, emphasized: “Our goal is to stand alongside survivors and the organizations that support them. By donating this vehicle, we are not just providing transport—we are strengthening MACC’s ability to save lives and deliver hope. Partnerships like this are vital in addressing family and sexual violence in the communities.”
This donation highlights Femili PNG’s aim to work side by side with partners, clients, and communities to improve responses to family and sexual violence.
